Foundation for Asian Skin?

Asian skin can be tricky. You want to stay away from pinkish shades & stick to a yellow base. Your best bet is to go to a large department store that stocks dozens of brands & shades (like Sephora) & test out different colors with the help of a salesperson.

The trick to testing foundation is to stand near a window to view the shade in natural light. Otherwise, you might try custom blending. Several department stores offer this. The makeup artist will blend the perfect formula for you (keep in mind you may need a different shade for summer & one for winter).

Some great brands to try: Prescriptives makes 500 shades so chances are you'll find your perfect fit. Also Shu Uemura & Shisheido are two Asian-based companies that cater to Asian skin

Actually, not all people are alike as Asia is a big continent and have too many countries and different skin colour. I hated that most makeup that are recommended by makeup artist for asian skin are suitable only for the oriental skin types like majority of Japanese, Korean, Thai and Chinese as theirs are lighter and not suitable for Indians, Arabian and most Indonesian or Malay. Most of the foundation in the market for asian skin doesn't have the suitable tone (I had trouble on this..) as most of the makeup that said are suitable for tanned skin are lighter than my original tan as I am a Malay. I hope you can give pointers for this.

That's pretty true, I agree with the previous comment. Most Asian skin in many articles represented by Japanesse/Korean and Chinesse which is quite yellowish. While Malay skin is a bit more tanned or brown but not deep dark. Can you give advice on this kind of skin since I have malay skin?
