Get Sexy Wavy hair

Here's How:

1. Spray freshly washed roots with volumizing spray. I like Bumble & Bumble or you can try Aveda volumizing tonic .

2. If hair is naturally course or curly, work a straightening balm through hair. Here's a great list of balms .

3. Blow dry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Hair must be completely dry for this look to work.

4. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume (cold air locks in a style, according to celebrity stylist Oscar Blandi)

5. Using a 1-inch barrel curling iron, take a 1-inch portion of hair and wrap around the barrel of the curling iron. You'll want to alternate the direction of the curl as well. (Wrapping hair is different from the traditional curling method. You don't want to 'clip' hair into the barrel). Wrapping allows you to curl all the way to the root. When you're curling, make sure to leave ends loose.

6. After curling each portion, roll & pin curls to your scalp.

7. Once curls have cooled, release them.

8. Remove nozzle from dryer & gently loosen waves with cool air. 'Let the wind separate them,' Blandi tells Us Weekly. You can also separate curls with your fingers, just make sure not to brush them out.

9. To add shine, spritz a hair serum . Or forego hair serum & spritz with saltwater spray. I like John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea spray

10. Set with a spritz of hairspray. Just don't overdue it, you don't want to new waves to be 'crunchy.'

What You Need:
Volumizing spray
Straightening balm (if you have thick, course hair)
Hair dryer
A 1-inch barrel curling iron
Shine serum
Hairspray
Saltwater spray

Enjoy,
Lorette

Although the anonymous comment is a bit rude, they are correct. This process is incorrect in a multitude of ways . First of all, if you have naturally curly hair and want waves, why would you put straightening balm in your hair? And no, your hair should NOT be completely dry if you want to get sexy waves. I reccomend damp hair and a curling gel-- very few people have stick-straight hair. Scrunching your damp hair with gel for curly hair gives you that tousled, sexy look, while still looking put together and cute. If your hair won't wave enough with gel, air dry it and THEN curl it with a curling iron. Blow-drying it first just encourages your hair to re-straighten. If time won't allow for air-drying, blow dry with a diffuser, scrunching it the whole time. Then curl with a big iron, being sure NOT to be completely symmetrical. Frizz serum like John Frieda's will definietly come in handy to smooth the fly-aways when you're done curling. This process works for me all the time. I hope this works better for people than the original post.

Hi - Its interesting how differently people do their hair. I have naturally tight curls. But if I want big wavy curls, I have to start with straightening my hair, then I use a curling iron to make big smooth curls.

hey lorette
i read your topic about getting a sexy waves...and i read the comments as well....well,in my point of view that both of the methods had been mentioned are right...in fact it's depending on your hair type...for me i am sure that none of these ways will work with my hair....coz i dunno the reason why but the waves never last for longer than 2 or 3 hours....though i tried a similar ways to ur topic but no use...
anyways i just wanted to say my opinion and by the way i like ur blog very much it's realy helpful
